Discover Authentic Ayurveda, AYUSH & Holistic Wellness Through Trusted Healthcare Partners

Welcome to India's Wellness Heritage

Healthcare is no longer only about treating illness—it’s about achieving lifelong wellbeing. Across the world, people are increasingly seeking holistic approaches that support healthier living, stress reduction, disease prevention, and long-term vitality.

India has been home to holistic healthcare for thousands of years. From Ayurveda and Yoga to Naturopathy and Siddha, its traditional healing systems continue to draw people from around the world in search of authentic wellness experiences rooted in centuries of documented knowledge—not folklore.

ASAR FusionCare helps international visitors discover, understand, and access India’s wellness ecosystem through carefully selected wellness centres, AYUSH-recognised institutions, and experienced healthcare partners.

Whether you’re seeking preventive wellness, rejuvenation, recovery support after medical treatment, or simply a healthier lifestyle, FusionCare helps you navigate India’s wellness landscape with confidence.

Why India Is the Global Destination for Wellness

India is recognised as the birthplace of Ayurveda and Yoga, and remains one of the few countries where traditional systems of medicine are supported through a dedicated national government framework — not left to unregulated practitioners.

The Ministry of AYUSH, established on 9 November 2014, governs education, research, quality standards, and international collaboration across India’s traditional medicine systems. Under its National AYUSH Mission, India now has:

  • Over 12,500 AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres nationwide (now renamed Ayushman Arogya Mandir – AYUSH).
  • Roughly 1,157 AYUSH hospitals and 12,677 dispensaries supported with essential medicines each year.
  • 203 Integrated AYUSH Hospitals established between 2014–15 and 2024–25.

India also hosts the WHO Global Traditional Medicine Centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat — the first and only outposted World Health Organization centre dedicated entirely to traditional medicine anywhere in the world, tasked with building the global evidence base, safety data, and quality standards for these systems.

Every year, international visitors travel to India for:

  • Authentic Ayurveda programmes and Panchakarma therapies.
  • Yoga and meditation retreats.
  • Natural detox and lifestyle transformation programmes.
  • Healthy ageing and stress management.
  • Integrative wellness, rehabilitation, and rejuvenation.

India combines centuries-old healing traditions with NABH-accredited wellness centres, experienced practitioners, and modern healthcare infrastructure — making it one of the world’s leading destinations for holistic wellbeing.

What Is AYUSH?

AYUSH represents India’s government-recognised systems of traditional medicine:

These systems focus on maintaining health, preventing disease, and promoting physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing through personalised care, lifestyle modification, and natural healing approaches.

Today, AYUSH institutions operate alongside modern healthcare — including inside mainstream hospitals through the Ministry’s co-location programme — and contribute to India’s growing reputation as a global wellness destination.

India's Traditional Healing Systems

Ayurveda

One of the world’s oldest organised healthcare systems, structured since antiquity into eight specialised branches (Ashtanga Ayurveda) — each roughly comparable to a modern medical speciality, from internal medicine (Kayachikitsa) to surgery (Shalya Tantra), paediatrics (Kaumara Bhritya), and rejuvenation therapy (Rasayana).

Its best-known therapy, Panchakarma, is a structured five-part detoxification protocol — Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya, and Raktamokshana — used for chronic conditions, post-treatment recovery, and preventive cleansing. A physician determines which of the five (if any) apply; not every therapy is used for every guest.

Ayurveda is widely sought for rejuvenation, preventive health, and overall wellbeing.

Yoga

Recognised globally for its physical and mental health benefits, Yoga combines movement, breathing techniques, meditation, and mindfulness to improve flexibility, resilience, and overall wellness. Clinical, therapeutic yoga — distinct from a fitness class — is taught and researched through dedicated institutions such as Kaivalyadhama (Lonavala, founded 1924) and S-VYASA (Bangalore), a deemed university offering degrees in yoga therapy.

Naturopathy

Naturopathy encourages the body’s natural healing processes using nutrition, hydrotherapy, mud and physical therapies, fasting protocols, exercise, and lifestyle interventions. Institutions such as Jindal Naturecure Institute (Bangalore, established 1978) run this as structured, physician-supervised care rather than a spa programme.

Unani

A traditional system of Greco-Arab origin, further developed in India, centred on restoring balance through herbal remedies, nutrition, and healthy living practices — most often used for chronic and lifestyle conditions.

Siddha

Originating in Tamil Nadu and among the oldest of the AYUSH systems, Siddha emphasises preventive healthcare, rejuvenation, and healthy ageing using herbal and mineral-based preparations.

Homeopathy

An individualised complementary healthcare system that many people choose alongside conventional medicine, using highly diluted, patient-specific remedies.

Why AYUSH Matters in Modern Wellness

Modern healthcare increasingly recognises the importance of prevention, healthy living, and patient-centred wellbeing.

When appropriately integrated with conventional healthcare, AYUSH-based wellness programmes may support:

  • Preventive healthcare and healthy ageing.
  • Stress management and emotional wellbeing.
  • Lifestyle optimisation and mind-body balance.
  • Physical fitness, flexibility, and nutrition.
  • Recovery and rehabilitation after treatment.

This isn’t only tradition — it’s increasingly an active area of Indian clinical research. In September 2025, the Ministry of AYUSH inaugurated the Integrative Oncology Research and Care Center at the All India Institute of Ayurveda in Goa, developed with ACTREC–Tata Memorial Centre, bringing Ayurveda, Yoga, physiotherapy, and Panchakarma together with conventional oncology under one roof. Separately, a Tata Memorial Centre study found meaningful improvements in disease-free and overall survival when structured yoga therapy was included alongside standard breast cancer treatment.

“These programmes are intended to complement — never replace — appropriate medical care, and should always be tailored to individual health needs. “
